I seem to get a lot of email asking how to use textures, so I thought I would make a short and simple tutorial aimed at beginners. Click on the download link below for the tutorial which when downloaded will be larger and clearer than shown.
Jerry, thanks for the tutorial. I'm learning all about textures thanks to your kindness and innovative texture designs. I have posted an image on my blog, with a before and after image, using your Botched Painting texture and have added a link back to your blog. I hope others will try using textures. I know I will.
This is the shortcut link to the particular posting:
Since I am new to the texture layering world I love any info you can share. I was just re-reading all your tutorials late last night as I am using some of your textures in a current project that I will post about soon. I am always thinking... "What would Jerry Do?!!!" haha!
Hello Jerry! Thanks a lot for the beautiful work you give to us! I know now: "multiply" is "produit" in french! Thanks for the capture! Friendly your. Sim.
Such splendor. Thank you ever so much. I found you on Flickr this evening and couldn't help but wander over here. I greatly appreciate your artistic talent!
I would love to print out this tutorial and read it but all i get is the very small version. I am sure I am doing something wrong. Can you let me know how to do it so I can read the print? Thanks!
Jerry, can't thank you enough for your fabulous textures and tutorials. I work in fabric and vintage images--you've helped me to pull them all together. Appreciate it! Lynn in SoCal
I've just discovered your brilliant blog! Thanks so much for the wonderful freebies and excellent tutorials. I'm a newcomer to Photoshop Elements, and still on a steep learning curve but your posts make me feel that anything is possible, and it's going to be such fun!! Please keep up the good work ... I'll be following from now on.
I couldn't make it work! After you do "multiply" and "opacity" do the texture and photo just merge automatically? I only have Photoshop 7 so maybe that is why I am having such a hard time. This is the second tutorial I have found online and I still can't figure it out. Thank you, regardless, for showing us all the tutorials.
I love this tutorial and your textures. I keep coming back to your tutorials and doing them over and over until I get something I like. I end up liking everything!!!! Thank you...
Hmmm, none of my comments have shown up. In case this one does... thank you so very much for your wonderful tutorials, textures and postings on Flickr.
