Jerry, do you have a tutorial or can you describe the method you used to get the pressed / embossed look on this greeting. I've been trying for ages to get this look and I get close but can't get it to look exactly how I want. Your card is exactly what I am after. Thanks for any help you can give me!
Marsha, The effect you're asking about is done using Photoshop Layer Styles. You can search online foe PS Layer Styles, this particular style is called Letterpress or cutout.
All you do is add some text or a shape "on a new layer" then select the style you want from the Styles Toolbar menu, click it and it automatically applies the style.
Hope this helps, if not send me an e-mail and I'll get back with you.
What would you think of putting that design on a texture? Thanks for the well wishes -- being a mom is agreeing to have your heart walking around outside your body!
I've used the cutout method in PSP but haven't tried the PS layer styles. I'll check it out though. My problem using cutout is getting the settings right consistently on different projects. What looks like pressed lettering on one file doesn't work on the next and I can't seem to make the correct adjustments. I'll just give PS Layer Styles a try though. Thanks Jerry!
