Well the drama that transpired has come to a peaceful end. It seems the owner of Tricia Curtis Designs contacted me and announced how sorry she was and agreed to take down my property and compensate me money owed from sales made. She asked me to please take down my post, and after thinking hard about it and checking my PayPal account for a new transaction, I decided to oblige her wishes. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all your responses and caring comments over this matter, you guys deserve a big hug and have my heartfelt and undying gratitude. You guys ROCK!

Pleased to hear it has been sorted and that she has reimbursed you the money she made from your hard work!!!
ReplyDeleteWe all appreciate all the time you give to making the textures and letting us use them for free, it annoys me immensely that someone does that. Hope she feels very guilty!!
Best wishes, Jackie in Surrey, UK.x
SO glad things worked out!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad she did the right thing. There is no hiding on the internet. Hopefully she learned a valuable lesson.
ReplyDeleteVery glad to hear after pressure was applied in the appropriate place (public) that this person decided to do what was right by you. Love what you do and your generosity is extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteI'm still wondering how anyone has the nerve to plagerize in any form but then......
Glad to hear, especially about the compensation for the for sales of YOUR designs.
ReplyDeleteI am a no-nothing when it comes to learning PhotoShop, and am gearing up for a very basic class. So I have great respect for your work and the fact that you put these beautiful pieces out there for free. They are ART, and if someone makes money off them, it should be you.
XXOO~~
Anne
Great news. Thank YOU for all you do.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
I am so happy this is resolved. You are so honorable and generous. ♥
ReplyDeleteyou have a kind heart readily to forgive...
ReplyDeleteA well-placed comment seems like the least one could do after all you do for us. Glad it all worked out Jerry.
ReplyDeleteI am glad everything is resolved now! Your generosity and wonderful skills are very much appreciated and I hate it when you are taken advantage of.
ReplyDeleteOh Yeah....!! I Bet she was quick about it as well!
ReplyDeleteStealing is NEVER a good thing to do...never.
Thanks for all Your hard work as well...Your designs are great!

Sorry to hear about the issues going on lately :( Glad everything has been resolved :) You are a wonderful artist and deserve all the credit in the world! Have a wonderful Easter holiday! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that, in the end, she did the right thing. I am just sad that it took so much for her to see the error of her ways.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, next time she feels the urge to steal something, she will recall this situation. I would like to think she has learned something from all of this.
That's wonderful, Jerry! Thanks again for your artistic inspiration and so generously sharing your creativity with us!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that it got resolved quickly and she compensated you for your work. You have such a generous heart. You've got a lot of fans who are looking out for you!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you had this issue come to an end, however if you look at her "TC" for sale items, most have come from sorces we all recognize and some even from online digital libraries that strickly do not allow anyone to use the images! She has learned nothing! And her for sale items are not original to her! I could do the same and make money, but it is illegal and against everything I believe in!
ReplyDeleteIt's becuz we luv u.
ReplyDeleteAnd we dislike seeing others taking advantage of our friends.
so glad to hear it worked out well. It's a shame that people try to get away with making a profit off of someone else like this. Glad you caught her and your issue was resolved.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! It's nice to know something wrong was actually made right.
ReplyDeleteJerry, We all love you and the work you do, we're a pretty fierce bunch and protect our own!! :-o You are a star. I am so very happy she compensated you and hope she will learn from this.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear the good news!
ReplyDeleteDear Jerry,
ReplyDeleteI hadn't had a chance to comment before now, but I am so glad that things seem to have worked out OK for you. I know that you create what you make from your heart with the intention of providing additional inspiration and for that I am very grateful. It is a wonderful thing that you have so many nice fans on your side!
Wishing you a wonderful, peaceful evening!
Betty
You are actually the one who rocks. You handled this with utmost professionalism. You recognized the problem, took action, and received results. And in the end you took the high road and removed the post. Well done and thank you for your kind generous heart, as well as the gorgeous textures you create and share with us.
ReplyDeleteI think you, sir, have been way too generous here, First Tricia CURTIS knew this was about to blow up in her face in our scrap booking community so she dished out a couple hundred $, at least i hope it was that much, she has been selling those in more than 5 shops since at least November?
ReplyDeleteI say you should have asked for her to provide you with each shop brake-down of what they actually sold, they can provide sales reports in every shop, she could be very much making more than couple hundred a week in just one shop, i am almost positive she did not learn a lesson she wants this to disappear, but as long as you are happy i guess..
i just don't understand how you can believe her when she stole from you, she knew better to download a free texture trow it on her preview attach her own terms of use and sale it for 100% profit. what about the customers who purchased this from her? they are left in the dark continue to support her and the products she downloads from others only to resale and profit big!.
Tricia i know you read this here, you must, your heart should be racing and you should be ashamed, many of us know now what you did! I hope someone reports you for the misuse of those Christmas fonts you resale as doodles!
Good for her coming to her senses...not that she had much of a choice from her store owners, to you to your followers. Either that or be out of a job lol. I'm so glad it all worked out and good idea updating your TOU.
ReplyDeleteYou rock!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, and I am so glad that this is resolved.
Jen @ Muddy Boot Dreams
Jerry, I don't know you other than from your blog which shows you as a very kind hearted and gentle person. Good for you for being so kind to Tricia Curtis but I'm sorry you took down your post about the theft. Tricia Curtis is doing the same thing with other people's stuff and she is getting away with it.
ReplyDeleteHurray, the GOOD GUY final gets a victory, or sorts. So pleased this situation is in the past for you.
ReplyDeleteCarol
good to see soemone did the right thing
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear "the drama" has been resolved. And, once again, you prove to be a most generous man:)
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew exactly what was going on here, by the time I got to the post the other day, it had already been removed. :(
ReplyDeleteIt seems as though Tricia Curtis Designs sold something that wasnt hers to design. There's no way in heck I would have removed that post, nope, no way, nuh unh. That's illegal. Everyone should know. ESPECIALLY HER STORE OWNERS!!!!!
You are too kind.
While I admire your willingness to forgive, I agree with others that remvoving the post was a mistake. As a small home business doing custom small-job desktop publishing for small businesses I rely on resources that I find on the internet. I try to the utmost of my ability to adhere to copyright and terms of use but when someone sells resources as CU and they are not actually hers/his to sell that puts people like me in danger of violating someone's TOU or copyright. In my opionion there should be a list somewhere online of all these people who make money by cheating others.
ReplyDeleteThe only way at present to reduce theft like this is to make people aware of the thieves so that we can stop supporting them with our dollars. And if we stop supporting the sites that allow their sales, site owners will put more effort into ensuring that stolen property is not being offered.
In this business occasionally errors occur. I myself have had products mistakenly used. It is a shame that people automatically jump to conclusions that this was a malicious act. If anything, I am impressed with the response of this lady to make it right as soon as she was made aware. Remember this is business and when you take it personally, like some of the posts here have suggested, it negatively affects all of us in this industry. Have a heart posters, it could have easily have happened to you too.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that things are resolved & you have been compensated. Hopefully it will be a lesson to the person & others as well, it would have been a very disheartening experience for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your generosity in sharing your talents. :)
